beautify bangor mural projects
A few months ago the Borough contacted The SBCC and Slate Belt Rising asking for suggestions to improve the downtown area, some of the buildings and store fronts were in dire need of sprucing up. The buildings which feature beautiful architecture were in need of some TLC. Laura McClain, Executive. Director, Slate Belt Chamber of Commerce reached out to local real estate brokers. Faith Sarisky, Realtor/Broker, of Realty Solutions PA, in Upper Mt Bethel Township, immediately knew she wanted to get involved and started contacting fellow real estate brokers, who also agreed to be on board. Faith, who now spearheads the project began contacting the building's owners to ask permission to paint the building facade. Faith posted a sign on the building with her business name and immediately thought it would be a great opportunity for other
businesses to sponsor to not only gain recognition for their businesses, but it would also help in giving the buildings a welcoming appearance.
#Beautify Bangor just took off. Businesses started calling inquiring about sponsorship, artists called who were interested in painting and residents wanted to volunteer their time. It's been incredible to say the least considering the uncertainty we are all facing today." said Faith. “We want folks to think of Bangor as an artist destination. Located just 1 1/2 hours from NYC and 1 ½ hours from Philly, Bangor offers many wineries, breweries, eateries outdoor recreation such as the Appalachian trail and Delaware river. We are a lovely historic bedroom community located at
the foothills of the Poconos.

THE MURRAY COURTYARD
The Murray Courtyard is officially open! Come enjoy a coffee and breakfast sandwich, a lunch or a great dinner from one of our outstanding Slate Belt Restaurants. Grab your meal and bring it over to our courtyard and enjoy eating while it is warm.
Murray Courtyard is open to anyone in the community to support our local businesses. Grab a bite to eat at one of our terrific restaurants or a pint from the brewery. Hope to see you here!
None of the businesses are in charge of this Courtyard. With the assistance of our Borough, we are just trying to give a nice spot to enjoy great weather, food, beverages and entertainment. Please take pride in our town and assist by picking up and cleaning your tables when you are finished! We have numerous trash cans and recycle cans in our courtyard.
You will see many new, exciting changes in this area in the very near future. It is a work in progress and we will be doing upgrades daily.
